Our current system is built on fear and punishment. It's this fear that keeps the system in place; it's self protective.

• If you don't have a job, you'll be destitute: Be afraid.
• If you question your orders, you'll be jobless: Be afraid.
• If you question the system, you'll be ostracized: Be afraid.
• If you go against the system, you'll be punished: Be afraid.
• If your government doesn't protect you, you'll be abused and killed by invaders: Be afraid.

Is a system based on fear the best we can do? Wouldn't a truly "good" system be kept in place by its virtues, not by tactics of fear, intimidation, and punishment?
